To begin the internship, all steps of the procedure must be fully completed.
Do NOT start the internship if:
– the training project has not yet been signed by the tutors
– you have not received the activation confirmation
Before these steps, insurance coverage is not active and any hours completed will not be recognized.
In brief, the procedure includes:
The Degree Program includes a compulsory curricular internship carried out at companies, public or private institutions, professional firms, and DidaLabs Laboratories:
Before starting the internship, the trainee must complete the Workplace Safety Training Course – MEDIUM RISK (4 hours of General Training + 8 hours of Specific Training), as required by Legislative Decree 81/2008.
N.B. Before requesting a placement through the Internship Office, the student must contact the company or laboratory directly to confirm their availability to host them as an intern.
To begin the internship, it is mandatory that the student has earned at least 120 CFU and has passed all compulsory exams from the first year of the Degree Program.

To request the recognition of credits in order to reduce the internship hours to 9 CFU, you must submit Attachment 1 (complete with revenue stamp) for the recognition of 3 CFU, along with the certificates signed by the supervising professor, combined into a single PDF document.
The 3 CFU are recognized by filling out Attachment 1 and attaching the required documentation.
(A certificate issued by the hosting structure, or in the case of workshops coordinated by Bachelor's or Master's Degree courses of the Design section, by the coordinating professor, stating at least 75 hours of learning activity completed and signed by the person in charge)
To be signed by the person in charge of the Workshop/Conference and attached together with Attachment 1 (complete with revenue stamp)
The complete dossier must be submitted to the Internship Office, specifically to Andrea De Liguori, who will forward it to the Teaching Committee.
The Teaching Committee will issue an opinion within 30 days of receiving the COMPLETE documentation. Applicants will be contacted ONLY in case of incomplete applications or a negative evaluation.
To be recognized as equivalent to a curricular internship, work activity must be evaluated and approved in advance by the Teaching Committee.
Full Internship: 300 hours - 12 CFU
Partial Internship: 225 hours - 9 CFU to be integrated with 3 CFU - see LINK
To request the evaluation of work activity, send an email to the internship coordinator (andrea.deliguori@pin.unifi.it) attaching the WORK ACTIVITY REPORT (see forms) in PDF format - signed and stamped by the employer. This report must describe the activity performed and demonstrate its relevance to the goals of the Degree Program (minimum 6,000 characters, spaces included, and a minimum of 4 explanatory images with captions) - signed and stamped by the employer.
A response will be sent within 30 days.
In case of approval, submit ATTACHMENT 2 (original copy - complete with revenue stamp) to the PIN reception (Piazza Giovanni Ciardi, 25 - 59100 Prato – Italy) along with:
ATTENTION!
The Degree Program WILL NOT consider:
- requests for equivalence based on self-employment / independent business
- contracts / assignments for teaching activities
- aggregated forms of work activity
- incomplete applications
- any other forms of work activity for equivalence purposes other than those specified above
The Teaching Committee will issue an opinion within 30 days of receiving the COMPLETE documentation.
Applicants will be contacted ONLY in case of incomplete documentation or a negative evaluation.
